General Hospital Rumor Alert: What you need to know about the new Lulu

With Lulu’s condition at the forefront on General Hospital, it’s clear that the character will survive and also wake soon, but who will play her?

A New Lulu On The Way

Emmy Rylan has already confirmed that GH will be recasting the character she played from 2013 until 2020. She would have returned if GH had asked her to reprise the role, but the soap is going in another direction.

According to BuzzWorthy Radio, soap vet Jen Landon has been approached to play Lulu, but the outlet’s sources could not confirm whether she accepted the offer or not.

As longtime CBS soap fans know, Landon is a three-time Daytime Emmy winner for playing Gwen Munson on As the World Turns from 2005-2010. She also had a brief stint on The Young and the Restless playing Heather Stevens (now portrayed by Vail Bloom).

Landon had an even shorter stint on Days of our Lives as Hillary Nelson. Hillary was involved in Brady and Nicole’s on-the-run story in 2017 when they skipped town with babies Holly and Tate (who by the magic of soaps are now dating and ready to graduate high school in 2024).

Landon is also the daughter of Michael Landon of Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie fame. Landon has had her own primetime success on the series, Yellowstone, which has now ended.

Lulu’s Future

As it stands now, Lulu is waiting on a liver transplant to save her life. Will that liver come from Lucky or someone else? When Lulu fell into her coma four years ago, she was trying to tell Dante she still loved him, but she couldn’t get the words out.

With Kelly Monaco’s exit coming and Sam expected to die, that frees up Dante for a reunion with Lulu, but will it happen? It looks like a wild and emotional ride in Port Charles as we wait to find out.

Don’t forget to watch new episodes of General Hospital each weekday on ABC and weeknight on Hulu.
