General Hospital’s Scott Reeves Can’t Wait For Steve’s New Story

General Hospital fans welcomed Scott Reeves back to the Port Charles fold on Thursday when Steven Webber returned to town after a decade-long stint behind bars.

Like Mother, Like Son

It looks like both Steven and Heather are being released from prison at the same time, meaning there’s a big mother-and-son reunion in store. While Steven was in jail for a mercy killing in order for a patient to receive a transplant, Heather was a full-blown serial killer. However, Ric got a judge to set her free after proving Heather’s actions were a result of cobalt poisoning.

Steven’s return coincides with his mother’s release while bringing Reeves back to the soap he called home for four years. Reeves played Steven from 2009 to 2013 after a long run as Ryan McNeil on The Young and the Restless.

Reeves wasn’t expecting to end up back on GH, but when Executive Producer Frank Valentini called this summer with a new storyline idea, Reeves couldn’t say no. The actor has been living in Nashville for the last decade, but his GH comeback coincided with his wife’s Days of our Lives comeback as Jennifer. So, Scott and Melissa Reeves embarked on a journey back to LA and their old soap stomping grounds.

Reeves loved reuniting with his old GH co-stars and felt like no time had passed.

“Every single person I saw was just like, ‘Oh, my gosh, give me a hug!'” Reeves told Soap Opera Digest. “Steve Burton is like a brother to me. We spent time just catching up in between scenes in his dressing room. Walking down those halls, it really was like, ‘Wow, it’s like I blinked and I’m back!'”

The actor also got to work with a brand-new Heather. Robin Mattson was in the role back in 2013 during Reeves’ last stint, but this time, Reeves got to work with Alley Mills.

“That was an incredible treat for me,” Reeves said. I grew up [watching] her and she’s just amazing. I had so much fun again. She is a hoot! She’s hilarious and such a great actress and she really ate this role up.”

Don’t forget to watch new episodes of General Hospital each weekday on ABC and weeknight on Hulu.
