The Best and Worst of General Hospital for October 18-25

General Hospital brought the drama the week of October 18-25, 2024. Some moments were hits, some were misses, and Soap Talks has the rundown on what worked and what didn’t in Port Charles this past week.

Best of GH

Was there a dry eye in the house as Sam said goodbye to her loved ones believing she would see them again after surgery and all would be right with the world? We all know Sam is not getting out of that surgery alive, so it was both a gut punch and beautifully acted scenes by Kelly Monaco as she finished her 21-year career on GH.

We admit it. We saw chemistry between Sonny and Holly. Maurice Benard and Emma Samms work well together and we hope to see more of it. If Samms sticks around, Sonny might have just met his match.

Ric and Molly’s confrontation was full of fire and emotion as Ric begged his daughter not to repeat the sins of the father. Ric wants what is best for Molly and he knows that what is best is not revenge.

Worst of GH

Laura was absolutely awful praying that Sam would risk her life to save Lulu when she was told the transplant had an almost zero chance of success. And if the transplant did work, what would the quality of life be for a woman who has been in a coma for four years?

Why is serial killer Heather Webber walking free? Heather has always been insane and killed long before the Hook murders in 2022. How can that be blamed on cobalt poisoning? Alley Mills is fantastic, but this story has been a stinker from the start.

When Anna learned that Holly became pregnant with Robert’s child just before he was presumed dead for years, why did she not point out that Robert was married to her at the time and cheated on her? Make this story make sense, please.
