A Week Full of Days of our Lives Returns Ends With Tragedy

Days of our Lives will feel like old home week for Thanksgiving as Matthew Ashford and Melissa Reeves bring Jack and Jennifer Deveraux back to Salem, but those aren’t the only surprises in store.

Back For Cat

Jack and Jennifer are happy to be home but not happy to have to deal with the woman who impersonated their dead daughter, Abigail. Jennifer is absolutely furious to see Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) is out of prison and in her family home. She gives her a slap across the face before telling her exactly how she feels.

It’s the first time that Reeves is playing Jennifer since 2021. Reeves and Cady McClain have been alternating in the role since 2020 after Reeves chose to stay back at her Tennessee home after the COVID hiatus nearly five years ago. Ashford was on the scene over the summer when Jack and Chad (Billy Flynn) thought they had found Abigail.

Tragedy Strikes

Sadly, Jack and Jennifer’s homecoming becomes bittersweet when Jack discovers that Doug Williams has died in his sleep. He has the horrible task of telling Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) that her beloved husband is gone. This sets up the story for a memorial honoring Doug and Billy Hayes in December. Hayes passed away at the age of 98 earlier this year.

Joining Jack and Jennifer are Lamon Archey and Sal Stowers as Eli and Lani Grant. They return home with their twins, Jules and Carver, for Thanksgiving. After surprising Abe (James Reynolds) and Paulina (Jackee Harry), they act as a source of comfort to Eli’s grandmother, Julie. Expect tears and waterworks as Salem says goodbye to Doug in the coming weeks and other old favorites return.

Don’t forget to watch new episodes of Days of our Lives on Peacock starting at 6 AM ET each weekday.
