DAYS Recap, April 17: Paulina Rescues Chanel, Sloan Panics
Paulina did her duty as a mom — while spreading radiation everywhere.
On the April 17 episode of Days of our Lives, Paulina finds her daughter, Sloan finds a way to cover for herself, and Konstantin finds a way to trick Maggie some more.
Paulina Does Good And Bad Things
Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Johnny (Carson Boatman) were worried sick about Chanel (Raven Bowens). Johnny once again went to find her while Julie stayed behind in the cabin worrying about the fact that she let the truth about Paulina (Jackee Harry) slip. The next thing that Julie knew, Paulina was standing in the middle of the cabin all bundled up and determined to help. It didn’t occur to Julie that she wasn’t supposed to be around Paulina.
Thankfully, Paulina was able to accomplish her goal and quickly found Chanel. She brought the freezing girl back inside and tried warming her up. Chanel called her mother her angel on Earth. Chanel claimed she slipped in the snow and got caught between rocks. Finally, it occurred to her that Paulina was supposed to be in isolation, but the idea that Paulina was a biohazard did not yet register.
After Chanel was settled in, it finally started to dawn on Paulina that she made a big mistake leaving the hospital and could have done much more harm than good. Chanel tried not to worry about that since Paulina saved her life. Soon, Johnny returned to the cabin and was relieved to see Chanel, but worried when he saw radioactive Paulina. It then occurred to them that Julie was still out there. Johnny called her and told her the news, so she rushed back to the cabin right away.
Marlena Worries For Paulina
Marlena (Deidre Hall) was alarmed when she entered Paulina’s hospital room and found her missing. She immediately called John for help. She made it to the pub where John (Drake Hogestyn) had just learned that Chanel was missing. That seemed to explain Paulina’s disappearance.
Marlena was immediately panicked when John told her that Paulina had made her way to the island. Yes, she was relatively healthy, but she was also radioactive and could not be around other people. They tried to notify the first responders that they couldn’t go anywhere near her. Marlena likened the whole scenario to the plot of a bad B movie.
John defended Paulina and said she was only trying to protect her daughter. He reminded her that they had been there with their own children and Marlena understood. It didn’t make her any less worried, though.
Sloan Hides Money Troubles
Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) was not pleased to come home and find Eric (Greg Vaughan) at a laptop going over their finances. He still didn’t understand where most of their money was going and had a lot of pointed questions that Sloan didn’t want to answer. At least she could brag that her new client (Stefan) was so impressed with her that he was going to pay double her fee.
Still, Eric needed some explanation for their money troubles. Eric didn’t understand how they were in the red. After all, he had been super careful with their money the last few months, yet they didn’t save a penny. Sloan chalked it all off as Eric’s computer error as she hit a few keys and fudged a few numbers without her husband noticing. Because he is Eric.
Sloan tried to distract Eric with the baby in her arms, but Eric was still worried about money and wanted to expand his photography business because it could make more money. To that end, he left to talk to someone at The Spectator about getting a job.
When Eric left, Sloan called Leo (Greg Rikaart) and tell him he might have to be cut off. She also asked Leo to help Eric get more work so he could get more money. Leo told her they already have a staff photographer but Sloan insisted that Leo had to have some power to help him. Sloan insisted that she wasn’t taking no for an answer.
When Eric arrived, Leo did his best not to reveal the truth to Eric about Jude. That was easier said than done because Eric overheard him on the phone talking about blackmailing someone. Eric asked him who he was blackmailing these days but Leo shrugged it off and said blackmail was way too strong a word.
Leo was as friendly as possible when he said he would talk to Chad (Billy Flynn) and Xander (Paul Telfer) and see what they could do. He then changed the subject and couldn’t wait to talk more about Baby Jude. Eric then overheard Leo on the phone promising to give Eric a ringing endorsement.
Konstantin Lies Some More
While at The Brady Pub, John put in a call to a contact and had him look through more records concerning Konstantin (John Kapelos). He was determined to find Konstantin’s ex-wife and get to the bottom of what really happened in Aria.
Konstantin sat in his Kiriaikis mansion bedroom promising a photo of his daughter that he would find a way to stay in the country and finish what he started. He then went to get his tarot card out of his drawer and couldn’t find it. Little did he know that little Thomas took it.
Downstairs, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) was saddened when she received some paperwork. Soon Konstantin came barreling into the living room accusing Maggie’s trusted maid of stealing the card. After Maggie took him to task, Konstantin apologized profusely and made up some story about the card having special meaning to his daughter. Maggie forgave him as usual.
She then had to give him some really bad news. There was nothing any of her big-shot lawyers could do to extend his visa and keep him in the country. However, Maggie thought she had another solution and asked Konstantin to marry her. Just last week she thought the government would catch onto that scam, but clearly, she has changed her mind
