DAYS Recap, April 18: Ava and Harris Plot, Wendy’s a Hot Mess
Ava and Harris can’t give back those keys just yet.
On the April 18 episode of Days of our Lives, Ava and Harris needed to get to The Bistro, Wendy worried what would come next, the DiMera siblings sparred, and drama happened in the Kiriakis house.
Wendy Remains Freaked Out
Tripp (Lucas Adams) seemed disappointed when he saw Ava (Tamara Braun) packing for her move. He was going to miss his mother, but also wondered if she was leaving because she was in some sort of trouble. Wendy (Victoria Grace) was listening at the door, but walked in and interrupted them. Perhaps she didn’t want to know.
Ava then explained that she didn’t feel right about the mom living with her son and his girlfriend. It was a little awkward and weird and she would be happy to live with Harris (Steve Burton). They were now just taking their relationship to the next level.
When Ava left, Tripp told Wendy that he was sure something was up with his mother and he was worried. That only left traumatized Wendy more sure that they were still in danger, but she tried not to let her fear show. Wendy then told Tripp that she had a hard time being back at work and the only thing she could do was try to find a lead on Clyde. She called it a waste of time because she found absolutely nothing.
Finally, Wendy had to admit that she feared that Ava would find trouble again and she and Tripp would end up caught in the crossfire. She didn’t think she could deal with it but Tripp tried to reassure her they would be ok.
Ava And Harris Are Suspicious
Ava met up with Harris at The Brady Pub, which was now their new home. Or at least the room above it was their new home. They made some small talk but soon the subject turned to Clyde Weston (James Read) and that little black book they needed to retrieve from The Bistro.
Harris was on board with helping her and wanted to get it over with. Before they could make their way over there, EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) stopped by and nervously asked Ava for the keys since she had quit. He said he was just trying to do Stefan (Brandon Barash) a favor but both Ava and Harris were suspicious.
DiMera Siblings At War
Stefan was happy to be home and free at the DiMera mansion and even asked EJ to pour him a drink. EJ was not amused so Stefan was ready for some good stuff from the wine cellar. He even just visited Gabi in prison and felt good about getting her released.
When Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) walked into the living room, she was disappointed to see her brother wasn’t in jail. Stefan thanked their brother for his freedom, but he was clearly being sarcastic. Kristen wanted to know why she was the last person to know what was going on. Always.
The subject soon turned to control of DiMera Enterprises and it was apparent that all three siblings were going to fight for the top spot once again.
Theresa was devastated when she learned that Bella Magazine was in financial trouble because a big advertiser pulled out. Theresa wanted to save the magazine but Alex was ready to fold it. Bella was dead and that was that. Theresa begged for another chance, but Alex refused to budge. She was determined to find another big advertiser, but even that wasn’t good enough.
EJ told both of them that Stefan would be resigning from the company and there was already a press release going out stating just that. Stefan wasn’t amused and vowed not to give up his rightful place with the family business. Kristen figured out that EJ wanted to take over but she wasn’t about to let that happen despite her own criminal past. Eventually, Kristen and Stefan agreed to work together.
Maggie Is Being A Fool
Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) surprised but didn’t surprise Konstantin (John Kapelos) when she asked him to marry her. He was even speechless or at least, he pretended to be. At first, he told her that he couldn’t accept her proposal, but Maggie was insistent.
Konstantin worried about what her loved ones would think but Maggie said if he family and friends didn’t approve of her choices, then that was their problem and not hers. She felt marrying Konstantin would make up for everything that Victor (John Aniston) did to Konstantin. Of course, he feigned shock and honor and insisted the marriage would be in name only. He would never take advantage of Maggie, right?
Maggie asked Konstantin to keep their engagement a secret for now and as expected, he made every promise in the world. When Maggie left the room, Konstantin had a sinister talk with himself, declaring that all the pieces of his plan were falling into place. He just needed to find that missing tarot card.
Alex Gives Theresa Bad News
Theresa (Emily O’Brien) was devastated to learn that an advertiser had pulled out of the next issue of Bella and Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) was giving up. He was closing the magazine because he was losing more money than it was ever projected to make. Theresa begged Alex to change his mind but when he wouldn’t, she tried to the company altogether.
Alex tried to talk her out of it but she insisted it was best if she found a fresh start somewhere else. She ran out of the office and straight to Maggie’s because she needed someone to talk to. Theresa told Maggie what was going on with Titan and Bella. Maggie wasn’t surprised to hear the news at all since the magazine hadn’t been doing well.
Theresa felt like a failure but Maggie assured her that she wasn’t. Maggie couldn’t imagine why Theresa quit. She said she felt unqualified anyway and believed she was nothing but a charity hire. She thought she only got the job because she pushed herself on Alex.
Before Theresa left, Konstatin cornered her and reminded her she needed to live up to her end of the bargain regarding Alex.
