DAYS Recap, April 19: Jada Has Marriage on the Mind, Everett Makes A Big Move
Everett made a big move, but so did Jada.
On the April 19 episode of Days of our Lives, Everett lied to Stephanie, John and Marlena bonded with baby, Jada told Rafe he was her person, and Konstantin got his card back.
Rafe Proposes…Cohabitation
At the Salem PD, Rafe (Galen Gering) and Jada (Elia Cantu) did the best they could to locate Clyde (James Read) but were having no luck. When Jada walked away, Everett (Blake Berris) walked in looking for info about Clyde, but Rafe didn’t want to talk to him even if he was a reporter. He insisted that Everett do the right thing and sign the divorce papers to give Jada some peace of mind.
Rafe explained he would talk to any other reporter but him, so Everett accused Rafe of abusing his power because he felt personal animosity. Rafe just went back to talking about the divorce papers and how he cheated on Jada. Everett still claimed he remembered nothing about Jada. When Jada returned, she overheard the argument and Rafe going to bat for her.
Once alone, Rafe apologized to Jada for overstepping but she thanked him for defending her honor. Jada decided that she would relax about the papers for a while since she wasn’t getting married again so soon. She made it clear to Rafe that marriage was on her mind, however. Rafe still insisted that he wasn’t trying to rush Jada into a new commitment, but he only wanted her to be happy.
Jada suggested that Rafe propose once again. She explained that she was gun-shy after her failed marriage and fiasco of a relationship with Eric (Greg Vaughan). This prompted Rafe to at least ask Jada to move in with him.
John and Marlena Babysit
John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) settled in at Eric and Sloan’s (Jessica Serfaty) place to babysit while the new parents enjoyed a night out despite their broke status. Marlena was still worried about all the people exposed to radiation but hoped everyone would be ok. Marlena also worried about Paulina (Jackee Harry) feeling guilty if she hurt anyone.
John understood and mentioned that guilt is a hard thing to live with. Marlena thought guilt could have a positive effect, but didn’t see that happening with John. She wanted to alleviate his guilt but he seemed to be reveling in it. Between Clyde’s escape and Konstantin’s (John Kapelos) daughter, John was struggling.
They were interrupted by Jude’s crying and started taking care of the baby instead of arguing about whether John should feel guilty or not. They couldn’t help but notice Eric seemed worried and distracted earlier and wondered what it could be. Marlena knew they were having financial problems so John suggested that they help them. Marlena thought the best bet was to spread the word about Eric’s photography business rather than give them a handout.
Everett Confides In Stephanie
Chad (Billy Flynn) and Thomas (Cary Christopher) spent some time bonding over tarot cards at The Brady Pub. Chad wasn’t very good at their game but Stephanie (Abigail Klein) soon dropped by their table and knew exactly how to play. Thomas was thrilled to see Stephanie and invited her to play with them.
As Thomas went to get chocolate chip cookies, Stephanie sat down to make small talk with Chad. She was curious to know how Stefan got out of jail so quickly. Chad only wanted to move back into the Horton house so his children could identify as Hortons and not DiMeras. The subject turned to the bad weather and the snowstorm on Smith Island. It was indoor hide and seek that led Thomas to find the pawn tarot card, something he was still obsessed with.
Everett then walked into the pub so Chad started talking to him about work, disappointing Thomas. Chad took his son home to leave Stephanie and Everett to talk so she asked him how the hypnosis appointments with Marlena were going. Everett told her that he wasn’t really learning much, which wasn’t true. However, he did mention that Marlena felt his subconscious was hiding feelings he was unable to handle and that was why he wasn’t signing the divorce papers.
The conversation came to an end when John and Marlena arrived with Jude. Stephanie thanked Marlena for helping Everett and said she hoped the hypnosis therapy would continue. Marlena made sure not to mention that Everett had refused any more hypnosis. Stephanie was later surprised when Everett asked her to come back to his Salem Inn room but she agreed to go.
Once in his room, Everett showed Stephanie the divorce papers. He was going to sign them so that he and Stephanie could have a future together. So, he took pen to paper with Stephanie as his witness.
Maggie Plans A Wedding
Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) went over her calendar trying to find a wedding date and asked Konstantin to help her choose. But first, she had to call her lawyer and work on Konstantin’s immigration problems. Maggie was shocked when Konstantin presented her with a ring that once belonged to his mother.
Maggie broke down into tears and told Konstantin she couldn’t accept it. She wasn’t ready to wear it yet so soon after Victor’s (John Aniston) death. So, Konstantin channeled Thomas Forrester from The Bold and the Beautiful and offered for her to wear it on a chain around her neck. Maggie was again touched and agreed.
She made it clear that she wanted to make amends for how Victor hurt Konstantin and his family, remaining naive to how much Konstantin wanted to hurt her own family and even had her granddaughter kidnapped.
After Maggie left the room, Thomas and Chad returned home. Chad mentioned the pawn tarot card and Konstantin was curious. Chad finally admitted that he found Thomas in Kon’s room but Thomas insisted he didn’t take anything from the room. Konstantin side-eyed Thomas and didn’t believe a word he said.
Chad went to the car and Kon insisted to Thomas they needed to have a chat about the card. Kon tried to coerce Thomas into giving him back the card. Finally, Thomas agreed and gave the old man his dangerous card back. Konstantin felt it was now almost time to get what was rightfully his.
