DAYS Recap, April 4: Nicole Goes Ballistic On Holly
Nicole could barely believe Holly’s attitude about her overdose.
On the April 4 episode of Days of our Lives, Nicole punished Holly, Tate’s homecoming was met with drama, Paulina wondered about ghosts, and Lucas complained and complained about his monastery predicament.
Nicole Doles Out a Punishment
At the DiMera mansion, Nicole (Arianne Zucker) asked Holly (Ashley Puzemis) to sit down for a long talk. Now that she was over the shock that the drugs that Holly overdosed on were indeed Holly’s, Nicole knew she had to step in as a disciplinarian. Holly tried to protest but Nicole told her to zip it. She was going to talk and Holly was going to listen.
When Nicole asked Holly what she thought her consequences should be, the teen admitted she expected to be grounded. Nicole wanted to make sure that the punishment fit the crime, which was an actual crime. She also didn’t buy Holly’s claim that she was only trying to protect Nicole’s feelings by lying.
The first thing Nicole wanted was for Holly to both make amends with Tate (Jamie Martin Mann) and honor Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Theresa’s (Emily O’Brien) wishes for her not to see their son. She asked him to give them handwritten letters of apologies. Holly took months from Tate’s life he can never get back and Nicole wondered how Tate could even forgive her daughter.
Nicole also admitted she was scared to learn how long Holly had been doing drugs. She asked where she got those pills and Holly told them she got them from school, adding that drugs were easily accessible in Salem at the end of last year. Holly assured Holly that she would never use drugs again after falling in a coma.
Holly insisted that she had learned her lesson, but Nicole wasn’t so sure. She asked Holly if she’d had a drink recently and Holly had to admit that she had a few glasses at champagne at the recent christening reception. Nicole was disappointed with herself because it happened right under her nose. Nicole confessed to Holly that she just couldn’t trust her anymore. Nicole finally realized that Holly did not see the gravities of her actions at all.
She demanded that Holly give up her phone and Holly defiantly told her no, rightfully angering Nicole. Holly then chewed Nicole out for being a bad mom and finally relinquished her phone, but refused to give her the password.
Tate Needs His Freedom
Brady and Theresa were thrilled to bring Tate home and offered him whatever he wanted to eat. All he wanted was fast food. When Tate insisted on going on by himself to get it, Theresa and Brady worried that he was going to see Holly.
They explained the obvious reasons why they didn’t want him to see Holly but Tate was ticked off because he felt he had been cooped up for months. He just wanted to see his friends, but not necessarily Holly. At least that is what he promised. Brady believed him so he was nice enough to give his son some money.
While Tate was out, he ran into Alex (Robert Scott Wilson), who had just left the club to take a walk through the park. Alex was thrilled to hear that Tate was released but Tate wasn’t happy with Alex for breaking up with his mom. Alex just wondered where Theresa would sleep now that Tate was back. To that end, he asked Theresa to move back in with him. It might be a better option than Brady’s offer to sleep on the couch.
Later, Alex ran into Theresa in Horton Square and asked her to move back in with him. She planned to get a room at the Salem Inn but Alex made living platonically sound appealing again, so she agreed to the move.
When Marlena and Paulina sat down, they discussed her future preventative cancer treatment and agreed to limit themselves to one drink for the sake of Paulina’s health. Paulina was just happy to be out of the hospital and back with Abe.
The subject soon turned to Paulina’s near-death experience. She wondered if the brain released chemicals that made you see things that weren’t there. Paulina told Marlena all about seeing Lexie when her heart stopped and how she brought her back to life and gave Abe (James Reynolds) his memories back.
Marlena finally got her turn to talk and told Paulina the tale of John’s (Drake Hogestyn) guilt over killing a woman years ago.
Lucas Is An Angry, Angry Man
Kate (Lauren Koslow) stopped by Lucas’s (Bryan R. Dattilo) safe house monastery with some supplies, including snacks and books. Lucas was just frustrated that he still had to hide out and seemed pretty ingrateful for his mother doing what she could for him. He wanted internet and Wi-Fi and was bored out of his mind, so he was willing to read the Stephen King novels, but otherwise, Lucas was a grumpy grouch.
Kate assured him they were working on him being free and with his family again and he just had to be patient, which was easier said than done. At least the monastery was better than Statesville. Lucas said he prayed for his freedom every day so Kate claimed she was praying too, but neither one usually pray, so Lucas didn’t buy it.
He wanted Kate to help him get out of there another way and Kate did not have good news. He just had to wait since the deal to shorten his sentence was never finalized since he never delivered on news about Clyde Weston (James Read). Kate wasn’t giving up on him but Lucas didn’t want to hear what his mom had to say. He was angry at Harris (Steve Burton) and insisted he come through on the promises he made.
