DAYS Recap, April 5: Tate Gives Holly a New Phone, Jada is Still Married
Tate gave Holly exactly what she wanted, but at what price?
On the April 5 episode of Days of our Lives, Tate and Holly made sure to see one another, news about Stefan got around town, and Jada had trouble divorcing Everett Lynch.
Tate Sneaks Around
Brady (Eric Martsolf) was thrilled to wake up and have Tate (Leo Howard) home for the first time in months. He declared it a great morning because his son was finally back. Tate already lied to his dad about where he was the night before. He claimed he was with friends, but we know he really snuck into the DiMera mansion to see Holly (Ashley Puzemis).
Small talk continued as Tate admitted that he didn’t have any spring break plans because he was sure he would still be in the halfway house. So, Brady invited him to go to a Cubs game over the weekend. Soon, Brady advised Tate to take the past and put it behind him because it would build character, but Tate seemed unsure.
He was afraid of what kids might be saying about him, but asked if he could hang out with them anyway. However, he insisted on walking when Brady offered him a ride.
Holly Sneaks Around Too
Nicole (Arianne Zucker) told Holly she was proud of the hard work she was doing in physical therapy so Holly wondered if she was proud enough to get her phone back and leave the house by herself. That was a hard no so the manipulative and ungrateful teen sulked up to her room on her own.
EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) was alarmed when Nicole heard him talking about Stefan’s (Brandon Barash) incarceration with Mr. Shin. EJ was not in a good mood because the arrest meant DiMera stock was down, which was the only thing that EJ cared about. Nicole wondered if Stefan was somehow responsible for the drugs that landed Holly in a coma. EJ wasn’t sure but explained that Clyde (James Read) blackmailed Stefan into doing his dirty work.
Brady interrupted them to chew out EJ for putting Tate through hell for months because he refused to believe Tate did not give Holly the drugs. Brady demanded a public apology for what he did to Tate. EJ had no problem doing this.
Little did any of them know that when Holly said she was going to take a walk around the gardens, she was really meeting Tate. He brought her a burner phone and she was so grateful that she kissed him. Unfortunately, they were caught and their parents were furious. Brady assured Holly and Tate they would not be seeing one another again. Nicole and EJ concurred.
Spectator Problems
As Leo (Greg Rikaart) discussed the daily horoscopes with Chad (Billy Flynn), they discovered they were both Pisces, which thrilled Leo. What didn’t thrill either man was Everett’s (Blake Berris) arrival. Chad wanted to know what he was doing there but Everett had a big surprise. He just learned from his Salem PD sources that Stefan was in jail. Chad didn’t hear this news about his brother and wanted to know why.
Chad immediately called EJ, who confirmed the news. Chad was shocked to know his brother had confessed to running drugs with Clyde Weston. Now Chad knew why Stefan was a drunk and emotional mess the last time he saw him.
Everett wanted to know if Chad wanted to print the story considering the last time they had evidence that Stefan was involved in the drug ring, Chad asked him to look the other way. Chad told him that would not happen this time just as Stephanie (Abigail Klein) walked in. She was willing to stay on as The Spectator’s PR person but wanted Chad to be her primary point of contact.
After Everett left, Chad offered to be a friend for Everett if Stephanie didn’t want to. She just wanted to make sure that he had someone to talk to. Stephanie was resistant to every single suggestion that Chad had when he named ways for Everett to make new friends. Chad just didn’t want to see Stephanie get hurt any more than she already was.
Eric’s Sage Advice
Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) sat down for breakfast the The Brady Pub with Jude in tow when Stephanie walked in. When Eric asked her what was going on with her and Everett, Stephanie admitted that she’d learned some news about him and was totally blindsided.
Stephanie told them the tale of Everett, Jada (Elia Cantu), and Bobby. Eric and Sloan were blown away and Eric hoped that one day Stephanie and Jada could find it in their hearts to forgive. Sloan hoped so too because she felt people shouldn’t judge others unless they’ve walked in someone’s shoes. Says a woman who just stole a baby.
After Sloan left, Stephanie lamented some more. She mourned her friendship with Jada, who blamed her for not knowing she was dating a married man. She didn’t understand why Jada was so furious that she hadn’t turned her back on Everett. It wasn’t like she meant to date a married man and she didn’t feel like doing a background check on him.
Jada’s Divorce Dilemma
Jada brought a box full of paperwork to the Salem PD to prove to boyfriend Rafe (Galen Gering) that she was no longer married to Everett. She was relieved to find her divorce decree and immediately showed it to Sloan when she dropped by. Sloan had to break the bad news that the one that was filed only had her signature and not Bobby’s. Jada was horrified to learn that she was still indeed a married woman.
Sloan gave Jada new paperwork and told her to have Everett/Bobby sign them, but when Jada asked him to, Everett felt like he’d be forging a signature. This enraged Jada, who was determined to finally free herself from Bobby Stein. All Everett wanted to do was sign the name Everett Lynch because in his mind he wasn’t Bobby at all.
