DAYS Recap, April 9: Clyde Makes Threats, Kristen Demands Answers

On the April 9 episode of Days of our Lives, Ava got a phone call that changed everything, Wendy learned to fight, Kristen fumed all around town, and Paulina and Chanel planned for the future.

Ava Gets Her Marching Orders

Ava (Tamara Braun) was alarmed when she got a surprise call from Clyde Weston (James Read). She threatened to slit his throat, but he remained unfazed. He still had another job he needed her to do and Ava was once again stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Clyde warned Ava that he could have her put in jail just like Stefan (Brandon Barash) if she didn’t cooperate. Ava still argued with him and tried to hang up. So, Clyde threatened to tell Harris (Steve Burton) how Ava helped him escape prison. Ava finally listened as Clyde demanded that she retrieve Gil’s little black book from the Bistro that contained all the info on his drug suppliers. He promised this would be the last thing she ever had to do for him.

Wendy ‘Fights’ Tripp

Wendy (Victoria Grace) and Tripp (Lucas Adams) spent some time in the park talking about work. Tripp finally returned to the hospital, but Wendy wasn’t ready and Rafe (Galen Gering) was still giving her time off. Tripp had an idea for Wendy to help her let off some steam. He gave her boxing gloves and told her to punch him.

Tripp insisted this would help with her stress and the apparent PTSD they both had from their shared experience held captive by Clyde. Wendy decided to go for it and then admitted to Tripp she had some martial arts experience. They were both later stunned upon reading about Stefan’s prison news. Tripp questioned Ava and told her she had some explaining to do. Ava had no answers but told them she was going to find a new place to live.

She wanted to give Wendy and Tripp their space, but also wanted to have a place of her own and some private time with Harris. Wendy offered to help her look for a new place, but assured her that she really didn’t have to go.

Kristen Loses It On Holly

Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) was shocked when she had to read about her brother Stefan being in jail for running drugs on her phone and wondered why EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) never told her this pertinent news about her family. How fortuitous that she ran into him in the Square and was able to confront her brother after she heard him talking to Mr. Shin about it all on the phone.

She was worried about DiMera Enterprises since Stefan was running the company but EJ didn’t want to talk about it and ran from her as soon as possible. He also ran from Johnny (Carson Boatman) when his son tried flagging him down.

At the DiMera mansion, EJ and Holly (Ashley Puzemis) had words. He told her that everyone makes mistakes, but she still had a lesson to learn. Holly remained an angry teen wanting to know why she and Tate (Leo Howard) couldn’t see one another anymore. So what if they made mistakes? EJ reminded her that Tate’s parents made that decision and he honestly didn’t blame them.

Holly told EJ this was all on him for arresting Tate for no reason with absolutely no proof that he did anything wrong. She later couldn’t keep Tate off her mind and remembered their last time together as she dreamed up new ways to sneak around and see him. When Johnny came by she lamented her problems. He tried to be understanding but Holly only acted like her usual teen self.

Soon, Johnny left, but Rachel (Finley Rose Slater) showed up and wanted to polish nails. Holly was all for it until Kristen walked in and ordered Holly to stay away from her daughter because she felt Holly was a bad influence. Holly was pleased when EJ walked in and defended her. She didn’t expect him to have her back and thanked him. Maybe he wasn’t so bad after all. EJ told Holly to let him know if Kristen gave her any more trouble.

Johnny And Chanel Head To Their Honeymoon

Johnny met with Chanel (Raven Bowens) in Horton Square and showed her the key to the Horton cabin. He was ready to start their honeymoon immediately and had even arranged coverage so she could have some time off work. Chanel was surprised and pleased, but she hated that her staff would work extra just so she and Johnny could have some time for themselves.

Chanel was also afraid of leaving her mother on the day she started treatment. Johnny felt this was the perfect time because Paulina (Jackee Harry) would be in isolation for days so she couldn’t see her anyway. Plus, they would only be a short distance out of town and she could get back to Salem quickly if there was an emergency with work or family.

They finally made it to the cabin ready for a romantic time. It all felt too perfect so they wondered if something was about to go terribly wrong.

Paulina’s Big Fears

Abe (James Reynolds) and Paulina sat down for breakfast at The Brady Pub, with Paulina not happy about her diet choices. Abe reminded her she had to take care of her health but she still didn’t like it. Paulina was a nervous wreck about her treatment and didn’t want to be away from her husband now that she had him back.

However, she was happy when Chanel came along and told them her honeymoon news. She just wanted her family to be happy and not sacrifice any more for her sake. By the end of the hour, Paulina was checked into the hospital ready for radiation treatment that would hopefully make sure that her cancer didn’t return. Abe was heartbroken when he had to leave his wife.
