DAYS Recap, May 2: Awkward Moments For Nicole and Eric
Nicole and Eric have to get used to working with one another.
On the May 2 episode of Days of our Lives, Eric and Nicole came to terms with working with one another as Leo pondered his next move.
Eric Offers An Apology
Things felt awkward between Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) as they realized they would be working together again. Eric asked Nicole to keep an eye on a sleeping Jude when he went to find Chad (Billy Flynn). EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) soon called and she told him all about the feature story she would on Salem’s homeless population. EJ thought it sounded sketchy as he worried about his wife.
Nicole almost told EJ she’d be working with Eric on the story, but stopped herself short and just said she’d be with a photographer when on assignment. When Eric returned, he looked disturbed by something so Nicole asked if everything was ok.
Eric admitted that he and Sloan (Jessica Serfaty)had been fighting and she walked out. The fight was about her not feeling good enough for her and Nicole said that certainly sounded familiar. Eric apologized for ever making her feel that way. Nicole changed the subject to EJ and said she didn’t even tell him they were working together because she knew EJ would be jealous. Eric knew that Sloan wouldn’t like it either.
They finally decided that working together was a good idea. After all, they had done it so many times before and always made a great team. They had even worked with homeless people together.
When they decided to take Jude for a walk through the Square, Sloan spotted them and was horrified.
Leo Laments His Bad Fate
Leo (Greg Rikaart) drowned his sorrows in booze at the nightclub. Sloan stopped by his table and he told her all about his broken heart. Dimitri (Peter Porte) had dumped him and he wasn’t going to leave town and live happily ever after with the love of his life after all.
Sloan told him she was sorry and he said she should be since this was all her fault. She was the reason that Leo ended up behind bars anyway. Or so Leo believed. She was supposed to be the best lawyer in Salem and now Dimitri fell in love with someone in jail. That wouldn’t have happened if Sloan wasn’t a better lawyer.
Leo lamented that he was now broke but Sloan pointed out that he had a steady job. According to Leo, it wasn’t enough to sustain his lifestyle. Leo admitted he was much more upset about Dimitri’s letter than anything else. He couldn’t believe he was faithful to Dimitri for all these months and this still happened.
Sloan did her best to comfort Sloan and even offered him a tissue. Leo still wanted more money and Sloan explained she just couldn’t do it anymore now that Eric knew she was paying for his room.
Sloan just wanted to make sure Leo didn’t change his mind. She prayed he would still keep the truth about Jude to himself. Leo assured her he wouldn’t tell but still thought he deserved some payment for his troubles. Sloan was adamant that was not happening. Drunk Leo then promptly passed out at the table.
Kristen’s Big Plan
Stefan (Brandon Barash) had some pointed questions for Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) about how she planned to get Gabi out of jail as that was the only way he could help her get the DiMera CEO spot. He explained that he had a secret about EJ but they needed Gabi’s vote. Stefan informed Kristen that EJ knew all about the drugs being run through The Bistro.
Stefan begged EJ for help getting out of this mess and EJ wouldn’t deliver, but he knew and did nothing about it even after Holly overdosed. Stefan planned to threaten to tell Nicole the truth to get EJ on their side. Kristen said she was also buttering up the board by starting a scholarship fund in Li Shin’s (Remington Hoffman) name. They also wanted to tell the board that EJ bit off more than he could chew but the board liked having the Salem DA in charge.
At this point, Stefan wanted to know how Kristen planned to get Gabi out of jail. She thought it was simple. They just had to find Li’s real killer. Stefan thought that was easier said than done. After all, Li named Gabi as the one who stabbed him right before he died. Plus, she had the bloody knife in her hand. Kristen thought it was too much of a coincidence that there were two murders in that apartment in such a short period of time, the second being Gil.
Ava’s New Life…And Old Crime
In The Brady Pub, Roman (Josh Taylor) told Ava (Tamara Braun) that her lease application was denied because she didn’t have a job or steady income. She told him to take the “Help Wanted” side out of the window and she would do whatever job he wanted. She promised to use her restaurant experience to whip the shape into place in a flash.
Roman decided to hire Ava on a trial basis and told her she had one week to convince him to hire her permanently.
Harris (Steve Burton) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) met up outside the pub. She conducted a little mental health check-in and Harris said he was doing fine. She asked if his time at Bayview was a success and it was — in more ways than one. That is where he met Ava. Plus, he felt strong and in control.
When Ava stepped outside, Marlena walked away. Ava was thrilled to tell Harris that she had both and a job and a place to live now. But, they had a job to do first. Break into The Bistro to find Gil’s little black book and get Clyde out of their lives. They finally made their way in with flashlights. They split up to conduct their search.
Unfortunately, Stefan interrupted them because she arrived at The Bistro early to get some work done. When he asked what they were doing there, Ava and Harris just told him the truth so he offered to help them look for the book.
