DAYS Recap, May 28: Eric’s Heartbreak Over Losing Jude

On the May 28 episode of Days of our Lives, Eric cried and cried some more, Nicole didn’t cry at all fo a change, and drama took place in the Kiriakis mansion

Nicole and EJ Revel In Joy

EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) puts on a happy face and pretends to be overjoyed at the return of his son knowing Jude is really Eric’s (Greg Vaughan). He apologizes to Nicole (Arianne Zucker) for not believing her when she first held Jude and knew he was hers. after all, she carried him and had a special connection.

Soon, Eric and Rafe (Galen Gering) stopped by to inform them Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) had skipped town. EJ feigned shock but Rafe made it known that he was sure Sloan had to have financial help to go anywhere since she was broke. He pointed out that the DiMeras had a lot of money.

After Rafe and Eric left, EJ convinced Nicole to ask Chad (Billy Flynn) for maternity leave so she could be there for Jude. Stefan (Brandon Barash) was later shocked when he walked in and saw a baby in the living room. He was further stunned to hear who this baby was.

Eric’s Tears

Once they were outside the DiMera mansion, Eric confessed to Rafe how hard it was for him to give Jude up. Since Rafe had to once give up David to his paternal aunt, he understood how difficult it was to love and child as your own and then lose them.

When Eric returned home, he went through Jude’s things and sat in his empty apartment looking at photos of the baby on his phone while crying.

Melinda’s Fears

Melinda (Tina Huang) was annoyed when Stefan walked into her office to congratulate her — and ask her to re-open the Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) murder case. Melinda explained that it was up to the judge and she had to run her own tests on the blood found on Gil’s little black book. Stefan was happy he was finally getting somewhere.

Rafe stopped by next with some questions about Sloan. She was missing and wondered if Melinda knew anything about it. She pretended to be ignorant but her ears perked up when Rafe mentioned a baby switch.

Kiriakis Shenanigans

Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) was thrilled when Bonnie (Judi Evans) dropped by to tell her that she and Justin (Wally Kurth) were moving back in now that the Hortons had moved out. However, she was surprised that Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Theresa (Emily O’Brien) were taking over the Horton’s wing of the mansion.

When Bonnie got Thersa alone, she told her she knew she was a gold digger and she approved. From one gold digger to another, Bonnie gave Theresa her blessing to live the high life of the Kiriakis dime.
