DAYS Recap, May 8: EJ Has Advice Johnny Doesn’t Want
EJ gave Johnny advice his son did not want to hear.
On the May 8 episode of Days of our Lives, Johnny fills EJ in on his news, Nicole and Eric bond, teens make prom plans, and Ava and Harris make a discovery.
EJ’s a Bundle of Baby Emotions
EJ (Daniel Feuerrigel) demanded that Dr. Rolf get him the DNA test results on Jude right away. Nicole (Arianne Zucker) overheard EJ on the phone but he said the DNA issue was just for a case and Nicole bought his story before leaving to work.
Once EJ was alone, Johnny (Carson Boatman) walked into the living room and told his dad that Chanel (Raven Bowens) was pregnant. EJ was thrilled to learn he was going to be a grandfather until Johnny told him the rest. Due to Paulina’s (Jackee Harry) stunt with the snow plow, the baby could have birth defects. Johnny expressed how frustrated he was because he knew he could have found Chanel in the snow himself.
When Johnny mentioned that Chanel was leaning towards keeping the baby, EJ was horrified. He reasoned that the couple was young and they could have other healthy children in the future.
A Deep Ericole Chat
Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole met up in Horton Square to work on their homeless story. The subject turned to Eric’s fight with Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) the night before with Eric admitting he now knew he had been too hard on Nicole all the years they were together and not together.
Nicole was ready to let bygones be bygones because one learns from mistakes in relationships. She even showed Eric how altruistic she was by making hygiene kits for the homeless of Salem while remembering when she lived on the streets.
Meanwhile, Sloan called Melinda (Tina Huang) over for a chat and told her all about EJ knowing Jude is Nicole’s and wanting the baby back. She assured Melinda that EJ would keep their secret cause she told him he wasn’t Jude’s father.
Prom Date Machinations
At The Brady Pub, Holly (Ashley Puzemis) and Sophia discussed prom dates. Sophia wanted to go with Tate (Leo Howard), which made Holly sit up and take notice. However, she tried to cover and said she wasn’t interested in going to prom with anyone.
In the park, Tate and Aaron also discussed prom, as well as extracurricular activities that help one avoid student loan debt. Aaron wanted to go with Sophia and wondered why Tate didn’t want to go with Holly. As they tossed a football around, it ended up hitting Sophia in the face. She made it seem worse than it was and then came the prom asks.
Tate would go with Sophia. Holly would go with Aaron. They would double date and somehow switch dates, except that Aaron and Sophia didn’t know this.
Little Black Book Tales
Ava (Tamara Braun) and Harris (Steve Burton) agonized over cracking the code in Gil’s little black book. Just then Clyde (James Read) called, so Ava claimed they didn’t find the book. She also got orders to scan the pages and send the scans to a dark web email address. Harris wanted a meetup and feared they wouldn’t have leverage if they scanned.
Just then, they found something sticky on one of the pages. Harris and Ava soon determined it was blood.
