Cady McClain and Jon Lindstrom are legends in the world of Soap Operas; McClain joined the cast of All My Children in 1988 as Dixie Cooney, and Lindstrom joined the cast of General Hospital in 1992 as Ryan Chamberlain (the evil twin brother of Kevin Collins). The now former couple took to social media to make a joint statement announcing the end of their marriage, on Saturday, April 27.
“We are taking this opportunity to make a short statement about our relationship status. It may be obvious to some based on our posts that we’ve taken some time apart,” they wrote on Instagram. “After serious consideration we have decided that our goals have been taking us in different directions and to end our marriage.”
McClain and Lindstrom became acquainted on the set of As The World Turns, McClain joined the cast in 2002 taking over the role Rosanna Cabot, which was originated by Yvonne Perry. Then in 2008 Lindstrom joined the cast taking over the role of Craig Montgomery, which was originated by Scott Bryce. They eventually married on Valentine’s Day 2014, after four years of dating.
The split appears to be amicable, with both actors focusing on their careers and passions. In recent months, the social media accounts of both actors have been absent of the other, though plentiful with happy outings and new artistic/business ventures. Lindstrom is currently on a book tour to promote his thriller Hollywood Hustle, a USA Today Bestseller.
The novel is set against the backdrop of a sinister Hollywood, and being promoted as perfect for readers who enjoy the work of Alex Finlay and Jeffrey Deaver: “Winston Greene, a has-been film star, wakes one morning to find his six-year-old granddaughter at his bedside—traumatized, unattended, and gripping onto a thumb drive. She comes bearing video proof that her mother, Win’s troubled adult daughter, has been kidnapped by a murderous gang demanding all his ‘movie money’ for her safe return. But what they don’t know is… his movie money is long gone.” Hollywood Hustle is available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
