GH – Recap June 3: Gunmen attack the Warehouse. Natalia reveals her true feelings about Kristina & Blaze’s relationship to Ava
Gunmen attack the warehouse leading Anna everyone to think Sonny is trying to kill Sonny. Ava accidentally records Natalia feelings about Blaze & Kristina.
Jason is attacked by gunmen at the coffee warehouse. Several shots go off. Jason waits for them to reload before coldly shooting the one to the left. He shoots at the second gunman, but he gets away.
Carly questions what Sonny is going to do to Jason now that he won’t sell out. Sonny says that Jason made his choice, and he has to deal with the consequences. She demands to know what that means for Jason.
Blaze surprises Kristina with dinner to support Kristina after her life was shaken up by witnessing Sonny attempting to murder Dex. She wants Kristina to know she is not alone. Kristina tells Blaze that speaking with her brother Dante helped because he seems to be going through a similar thing with their father. She appreciates Blaze. Kristina mentions how grateful she is that Molly doesn’t know what’s going on. A guilty Blaze confesses that Molly does know because she told her.
Ava is in the penthouse recording an intro for an artist at the gallery when Natalia knocks. She asks if it’s a good time.
The nurse brings Jack Brennen back to his room after his walk. He is handcuffed to the bed. The cop watching over him gets a notification that he is needed on the first floor. When left alone, Jack pulls out a wire, picks the lock on his handcuff and searches through the room discovering scrubs.
Jason kneels to check the gunman’s pulse. He’s dead. There is a sound behind him, Jason points his gun, but it’s Anna. She asks what happened and he tells her about the shooting. He suggests that she either has perfect timing or is keeping tabs on him. Anna wasn’t keeping tabs, but she was on his way over to get more info about Sonny.
Sonny tells Carly he doesn’t owe her explanations or anything at all after all her betrayals. Carly tells Sonny that he has never had a friend like Jason, and he never will. She insists that Sonny knows that, and he can’t erase Jason from his life and that he doesn’t even want to do it if he could. Sonny says he didn’t come here to bare his soul to Carly. He came to see Blaze.
Blaze explains to an angry Kristina how she ran into Molly. Molly asked innocently about the reception and Blaze thought he knew what had happened, but she realizes now that she fell for Molly’s fishing. Kristina freaks out, knowing how controlling TJ and Molly have been that this is going to blow back on her. She wants to know why Blaze didn’t tell her earlier. Blaze didn’t think Molly was going to make a big deal about it because she hadn’t mentioned it at the breakfast Kristina had with her family. Kristina is worried that her ADA sister could prosecute Sonny. Kristina calls what Blaze did a betrayal.
Ava invites Natalia into the penthouse to wait for Sonny. Natalia brought Sonny a bottle of single malt Scotch to thank him for the wedding invite. Ava heard it was a lively affair, especially the reception.
Jack dressed in scrubs, sneaks out of his room, and into the stairwell. Valentin is there waiting for him. Valentin reminds him that the last time they saw each other, they had agreed not to meet in person anymore, so what Jack has to say better be important. Jack has information that can’t wait from Carly Spencer. She wanted information from Jack but let slip that it was the FBI that is investigating them. John Cates was specifically allocated to Port Charles for them. Jack believes that the FBI created Alan Jacobs and helped him infiltrate Pikeman.
Anna and Jason are at the PCPD. Jason talks about the shooting telling Anna that one is dead and the other ran away. She asks who sent them. Jason doesn’t know. Anna asks who threatened him recently, leading him toward Sonny. Diane comes in before he can answer. When they are alone, Diana asks who tried to kill him. Jason wants Diane to warn Sonny.
Carly advises Sonny to not use Blaze to pressure Kristina that Kristina loves him and needs to come back to him on her own. Worried, he asks what he is supposed to do if she doesn’t. Carly reassures him that Kristina loves Sonny deeply and he is going to make everything worse by going through Blaze. Sonny says he knows what is best for his daughter. He receives a call from Brick about the warehouse shooting. Sonny says he will handle it. He lets out a breath.
Diane is indignant that Sonny ordered a hit and Jason wants him warned. Her phone rings and it’s Sonny. Diane answers with an eyeroll. Sonny wants to meet at the coffee warehouse. Jason wants her to go and insists he will be fine. He needs Diane to go protect Sonny (from himself.) Diane tells Jason she is going to assume he knows what he is doing and agrees to meet Sonny. Diane wants Jason to consider that while Jason is in holding worried about protecting Sonny, Sonny might be out there planning another hit.
Ava asks Natalia if she stayed for the reception. She did because Sonny insisted on her seeing the flower garden at the Metro Court. Natalia thought it was an interesting evening because Sonny knew everyone, and she only knew her daughter and Kristina. Ava asks if she stayed to the end (fishing to see if she knew about the attack on Dex.) Natalia admits that she left after Blaze did. Ava confides that Kristina has been a problem child over the years but luckily Blaze is a stable person. Natalia believes that their relationship is a little too unconventional for her. Kristina is pregnant with her sister’s baby, and they are holding hands in public. She fears a scandal. Ava asks if that would be a scandal in 2024? She also reaffirms that Sonny is 100% supportive of Kristina.
Kristina enters the lobby of the Metro Court. Carly calls out to her and accuses her of having baby brain because she is a little out of it. She asks if she is feeling okay. Kristina says she feels good about the baby because she knows that a kicking baby is safe and healthy. She thinks it is crazy how much she cares about a baby that isn’t hers. Carly says it is selfless to do this for her sister and that it may be a niece or nephew someday, but it will always be a part of her. She thinks it’s the same with Kristina and Sonny.
Valentin knew it was the FBI and Carly only confirmed their suspicions. Jack advises Valentin to leave Jason Morgan alone.
Anna found the dead guy’s ID. He is a low-level criminal with ties to the big guys down as State. She asks if Jason is familiar with him. Jason says it has been a long time. Anna doesn’t believe the man is a stranger and that Jason is aware of who he worked for. She wonders why he won’t say that it was Sonny who tried to have him killed.
Diane arrives at the warehouse as Sonny is getting in the way of forensics. Det. Bennet advises Diane that Sonny is a person of interest. Diane asks how since he wasn’t on location at the time of the shooting. Bennet tells them they can get more information at the station. Diane leads Sonny into the office where she reminds him that she can’t help him if he doesn’t tell her the truth. She asks if he was responsible for the shooting. Sonny doesn’t know what happened and tells her to ask Jason. Diane wants him to tell her everything she needs to know before he is taken into custody.
Jason is silent. Anna asks him to sit down. Jason repeats that he told her everything. Anna asks if he has a death wish because he is protecting Sonny after he threatened to kill him at the reception. Anna asks when does it end? And how much blood will be shed?
Valentin taps Jack on the shoulder, saying that Jack has issues and not just stitches. He tells him to relax and learn to delegate. Jack says it took a long time for Valentin to get to the top. He looks meaningfully down the stairs and suggests it will take seconds for him to go down. Amused, Valentin asks if they are threatening each other now. Valentin doesn’t think Jason knows anything. Jack says if he puts the pieces together, he will be a threat to them. Even if Jason does put it together, Valentin thinks Sonny will take him off the chessboard, saving them the trouble.
Jack needs to get back to his room. Valentin says that once Sonny eliminates Jason, he will send word. Until then no contact. He asks what he is supposed to do. Jack wants to know when he will get the charges dropped. Valentin says if the WSB/Pikeman connection is revealed too soon it will be bad and he needs Jack to stay strong.
Carly tells Kristina that Jason explained the situation. Kristina calls herself stupid for not believing Josslyn. She knows what she saw: her dad being violent and out of control. She assumes it is something that all of Sonny’s kids have to go through. Her eyes are wide open. She will never forget what her dad did. She feels ashamed. Carly believes that love let her see the good in Sonny.
Ava gently accuses Natalia of not approving of her daughter’s relationship and wonders aloud if it’s because they’re gay. Natalia believes that LGBTQ+ people are unserious and flighty. Ava defends Kristina as a good person and includes her baby. Natalia says it’s not her baby. She is going to hand it over after 9 months and that proves that Kristina and Alison aren’t serious. They get to have fun and then pass the baby off after it’s born. Ava thinks her view is an unfortunate way to look at the beautiful thing Kristina is doing for her sister. Natalia admits her views are old-fashioned.
Anna knows how deep Jason’s loyalty goes and questions what if that man never existed. What if the Sonny he knew was a façade? A cop enters with a forensics bag with a burner phone inside. Anna said it would be useful to report back to whoever made the call to have Jason killed.
Ava walks Natalia out. She enjoyed their chat and offers to do it again sometime. Natalia says perhaps before leaving. Ava picks up her phone, realizing that she has recorded their entire homophobic conversation.
Carly explains to Kristina that she married a complicated man. She says he was capable of many things, but he was ever downright cruel, and he always had a reason. Kristina wonders if he is still the same man Carly married. Carly doesn’t know. She knows that the bond Kristina has with Sonny is real and only she can decide how much that matters and how that fits in with what she’s learned. Carly wants her to think about living without her dad.
Sonny doesn’t think the attack makes sense. The coffee warehouse doesn’t keep a lot of cash on hand. He checks and the money is undisturbed. Diane suggests another target. Sonny says they didn’t get it and Jason made them pay for breaking in so why is it his problem?
The cop returns from downstairs, and Jack is safely back in bed with his handcuff on.
There’s only one number in the call history. Anna dials it. Valentin answers asking if it’s done.
