Anna thinks the severity of their situation hangs on how well Jason can control Carly before she blows their operation and gets herself sent to prison.
Jordan and Drew discuss their construction/public works project. Jordan believes the project will change the view of Port Charles as a haven for crime to a safe place and a be big investment for the city. However, she doesn’t believe that the layout is big enough to get the proposal off of the ground.
Alexis argues against being sent by Finn. She needed Gregory’s help, and he is her friend. She says Finn wants him to be okay and agonizes over how to do it without trespassing on Gregory’s autonomy. He comments that the pair must have had an emotional conversation. He admits to bringing up the argument with Finn over Jackie. He laid a guilt trip on Finn, calling it a cheap shot.
The pharmacist tells Valentin that Sonny’s wife knows about the lower dose medication. He wants to discontinue giving Sonny the altered medication. Valentin calmly asks if the woman made a fuss or contacted the police. The pharmacist says she wasn’t upset. He describes the woman as blonde and beautiful. Valentin orders him to stay the course. Sonny doesn’t have a wife, but he does have several beautiful blondes in his life. He reassures the man that he will deal with it appropriately.
Anna tells Jason that Carly overheard the conversation with Cates and informed Brennan that Cates was looking into Pikeman. Their investigation is blown. Brennan will reach out to FBI contacts to interfere on his behalf. Jason says id the case is blown, his deal is in jeopardy. Anna suggests they might be able to use Carly’s mistake to their advantage. If Brennan reaches out to his successor, they might be able to catch them.
Valentin approaches Nina to discuss Charlotte. Nina has a meeting and can’t talk but before she leaves, he asks if she and Sonny have reconciled. Nina says they are over, and she signed the divorce papers. Nina says Ava is in, and she is out. Valentin is thoughtful.
Ava is at the gallery when Nina pays her a visit.
Jordan speaks about the approval needed and all the people who want to say no. They need to have powerful friends in DC to make it work. Jordan suggests using an abandoned rail line instead of allocating so much land to parking. Drew realizes that would make it more viable as a transportation hub. Jordan suggests a ferry to Canada from the harbor. Drew is impressed with her ideas and compliments her. Jordan says they need official approval as McConkey enters.
Jason agrees that they need to be ready and waiting to catch Pikeman’s contact. Anna will also continue to follow Valentin as a lead. Jason thinks she is the best chance to get information out of him. Anna wants to know if Jason wants to loop Cates in. Jason says if it was up to him, no. He doesn’t want to work with Cates. She agrees to leave him out.
Ava tells Nina the gallery is closed. Nina wants Ava to be more forthright in her dealings with Crimson. Ava is not sure what she is talking about. Nina explains that she received an announcement for an African artist being spotlighted in Ava’s gallery. Ava says it is not unusual. She owns a popular gallery. Nina says Ava lobbied an editor to get the spot. Ava thinks the artist deserves the notice. Nina agrees but doesn’t like that Ava went behind her back. Ava was worried Nina would cancel it. Nina says she was right to worry because she snaked Sonny away from her. Ava tells Nina she ruined her relationship with Sonny all on her own. Nina accuses her of not waiting five minutes to jump in and it’s fine because she and Sonny are over for good.
Ava scoffs at Nina for being fine with their marriage being over. Nina thinks Ava probably delivered the papers herself and reiterates that she is over it. Nina says she is growing. Ava says there is no evidence of Nina growing (mentioning baby snatching and lying about Sonny being dead as examples.) Nina believes she is trying to be better. She says Ava tried it once with Nikolas and if she kept at it, she would still be married and Nikolas wouldn’t be in prison. Ava agrees softly and Nina cuts her off saying that aren’t friends anymore because Ava took the first chance she could to take something from her. Nina says they can do business but never be friends.
Gregory complains that Finn reduced him to his disease and he lashed out and said the cruelest thing possible. Alexis tells him to give himself some grace. She relates her experience about how when Kristina came out to her, she didn’t get the love and acceptance she was looking for. Alexis says she is 100% supportive, but when it was her daughter, she got scared about how hard her life would be and her inability to protect her. Alexis admits it was one of her worst moments as a mother. She made a mistake and learned from it. She apologized and explained her reaction and it made them better. Gregory doesn’t think their situations are the same. She says he made a mistake and should apologize for it. Gregory doesn’t think an apology is enough.
McConkey greets Jordan warmly. Drew calls Jordan a good ally to have and Jordan says they will do good things in the senator’s name. McConkey wants to know why he should get into bed with a convicted criminal.

Anna is worried about Sonny retaliating. Valentin asks why Dex would risk it. Anna suggested it as a way to protect Dex but believes he wants to redeem himself. Valentin thinks Anna is a good role model for redemption.

Their love for one another is all that matters. He tells her that she would make a great lawyer, prompting her to read her argument to him.
Ava guesses that they were done. Nina agrees. Cates enters and asks if he is interrupting anything. Nina introduces herself and reminds him that she saw Cates half-naked with Carly. He attempts to correct her. Nina doesn’t care and warns Cates off of Ava. Cates quips that they seem close. Ava asks if what Cates is there for can wat. He says it’s about Sonny.
Jason is happy to see him, but the warehouse is in a bad neighborhood. Danny said Yuri drove him over and that Monica has a message for him.
Drew’s conviction for SEC violations came up when McConkey searched him. He asked why Drew didn’t lead with that information. Drew says it wasn’t relevant to the deal and he needed to make him fall in love with the project first or he would have declined. If it’s an issue, Drew says he can delegate the project to Michael. He wants to do something great for PC. Drew says it’s his home and he will sacrifice credit to get the project done. McConkey reminds him that you can be convicted and still serve in the house of representatives.
Jason asks how Monica is. Danny says she is good, but she has pneumonia and needs to rest. He asks Jason to represent her at Brook Lynn’s wedding. Monica isn’t well enough to go. She knows he doesn’t like wearing a suit, but he can handle it for a few hours. Jason agrees that he can’t argue with Monica and offers Danny a ride home.
Anna asks what is at the heart of Valentin’s redemption. He quips crippling self-doubt. Anna believes he thinks he is smarter than everyone else. He doesn’t want to self-analyze. Valentin had a chip on his shoulder because of how badly he wanted to belong at the WSB. Charlotte made him want to be a better man. He doesn’t believe he can ever shut the door on the past. He can compartmentalize to protect the people he loves the most.
Cates asks Ava if the other crime families have made any overtures to Sonny. Ava says Sonny doesn’t talk to her about those things. Cates doesn’t believe her. She was stuck like glue to Sonny at the warehouse, and the Jerome’s were a crime family up until recently. Ava denies her involvement in crime, and says her business is totally legitimate. Cates asks if she is in love with Sonny or attempting a takeover. Ava is co-parenting her daughter with Sonny. Cates comments that she has to live with Sonny to do it. Ava responds that the reason is to keep her daughter safe because people keep shooting at Sonny. Cates calls her a person of interest and informs her that if she thinks she is being watched, she is.
McConkey has stage 4 lung cancer. He is thinking about legacy. He wants his seat to go to a good person. His party wants a crook or a moron or both. He believes Drew would use the office to do good things. Drew doesn’t think he has the pedigree. McConkey thinks he can handle it and he is rich so he can’t be lobbied. McConkey says Drew is a cowboy hero with a good story. Drew says you need more than a story. McConkey says he needs him.
Alexis asks for a review of her argument. Gregory suggests streamlining because it is so personal she restates her argument too many times. She asks if he made her case. He says she has all the elements to triumph… All except one. She asks what element is missing in her summation. He says luck and offers her his 7th Grade debate medal. He has used it for years and tells her that no one deserves a win more than her. She kisses and hugs him.
McConkey says Drew can’t say no to a dying man. Drew has never considered it. He tells him to get considering. He thinks Drew can do it and suggests he change his name to Quartermaine.
Valentin asks if she cares for a nightcap. Anna declines and says maybe next time. Encouraged, he offers to cook her dinner at his place.
Ava thinks he wouldn’t dare put her under surveillance. Cates already has. She accuses him of bluffing. Cates reads out a list of where she went all day. He caught her breakfast with Sonny, and her trip to the pharmacist. He says he will be using the full weight of the FBI to investigate whoever he wants.
