Has General Hospital Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ For Epic Couples?

As much as General Hospital fans love to love a long and epic romance between beloved characters, and even an epic love triangle, however as of late there seems to be a lack of great lovin’. When was the last time there was such an iconic pairing in Port Charles? 

April is National Couple Appreciation Month, which founded in 2010 by Blissful Escapes to, in the words of the company, “encourage couples to do something special to reinforce and celebrate their relationship.” This has grown to become a month-long event among both couples and singles to show their couple friends how much they enjoy their company. But what if you don’t appreciate their company as a couple? In fact, what if those two people as a couple plastered on your smart TV, tablet or cellphone (or whichever way you choose to consume your Soaps) make you feel a bit ill or at the very least contemptuous, and all you really wish for is to split them up and enjoy their company/performance as singles? 

Well there may be an answer for that! It just so happens that April 18th is National Piñata Day “Great fun and great memories have been created over nothing more than being blindfolded and trying to hit a papier-mâché donkey and make it spill its guts,” according to Days Of The Year. “The hilarity of missing, the hilarity of hitting someone or thing other than piñata, and the mad scramble for all the wonderful contents are all part of what makes National Piñata Day great!” And, surely there are some couples in Port Charles currently running around wreaking havoc that fans love to hate and would gladly take a good swing at if they were pinned to a donkey Piñata.

There are just so many questions that we would love to get answered! When will fans get the epic and evocative couple they have been hoping for? Are Carly and Sonny really going to go down as the last iconic love story on G.H.? 

We ask you the fans, who were the greatest couples (or love triangles) that embody epic romance resulting in undying fan devotion? 

However, we have some thoughts… Let’s start with Anna & Robert Scorpio, Felicia & Mac Scorpio, Sonny & Brenda, Sonny & Brenda & Jax, Gia & Nikolas Cassadine, Elizabeth & Jason, Lois & Ned and Dominique & Scott.

And, no, you can’t use Luke & Laura as your answer. That is too easy as they are obviously the most epic because their wedding “broke the internet” as they say two years before the official birthday of the internet. So maybe not the internet, but really their wedding nearly broke television thanks in no small part to a guest appearance by Elizabeth Taylor as Helena Cassadine. Apparently she was a huge fan of G.H.

And, more importantly, who are the couples that really need to be broken apart and spill out into singles?
