Jonathan Jackson Brings Lucky Back to General Hospital on Friday

The day General Hospital fans have been waiting for is about to arrive. Jonathan Jackson, who hasn’t been seen as Lucky Spencer for nearly a decade, will finally be on screen on Friday, August 23.

News of Jackson’s return broke in June. Jackson said at the time that the idea of working with Genie Francis again was the main thing that made him decide to return. The last time Jackson was on GH for an extended stay from 2009-2011, Francis was not on the soap.

Jackson did get to work with Francis when he taped a few episodes back in 2015, but he wanted the opportunity to work with her on an extended basis. Since he signed a multi-year contract this time around, Jackson will have the chance to create Lucky and Laura magic now. In the new print edition of TV Guide, Jackson warns that Lucky’s personality is currently a lot like his father Luke’s.

Is Lucky being held hostage?

During Friday’s episode, Laura will still be lamenting Lulu’s sad fate. She commiserates with Lucky’s ex-wife, Elizabeth. Does Lucky’s name come up as a potential donor for Lulu, who is comatose and in desperate need of a liver?

In the Friday previews, we can see someone in chains being held hostage in some sort of prison. Is the person whose feet we see Lucky’s? Is that why he has been gone for so long?

The last time we saw Lucky, he had returned Jake to Elizabeth after finding the boy alive and well, being held captive by Helena Cassadine. Lucky believed Elizabeth had moved on without him so he took off back to Africa where he’s allegedly been ever since. Has danger kept him away from Port Charles and his son, Aiden? The answers will start coming soon.

Don’t forget to watch new episodes of General Hospital weekdays on ABC and weeknights on Hulu.
