See General Hospital’s Nicholas Alexander Chavez in TWO New Big-Time Trailers
When Nicholas Alexander Chaves left General Hospital and the role of Spencer Cassadine earlier this year, he went straight into filming his Netflix debut as Lyle Menendez in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.
Nicholas Alexander Chavez Makes His Mark
Chavez plays Lyle Menendez in Ryan Murphy’s series based on the shocking murders of Jose and Kitty Menendez by their sons, Lyle and Erik, in 1989. The brothers famously killed both their parents with a shotgun at their Beverly Hills home and were found guilty of the crimes in 1996. Lyle and Erik alleged severe abuse at the hands of their father and that their mother turned the other cheek.
The trailer features the brothers’ rage-filled murderous moment, as well as scenes from the trial, the Menendez brothers’ lavish lives, and the alleged abuse. Monsters premieres on September 19.
Chavez tweeted the trailer on X (formerly Twitter) writing, “Whooping and hollering!”
Chavez will also debut in another Ryan Murphy this month when Grotesquerie premieres on FX, with episodes scheduled to be released on Hulu the next day. In Grotesquerie, Chavez plays a priest named Father Charlie in the ensemble cast.
The actor shared that trailer on social media as well.
Will Spencer Ever Return?
In May, Chavez confirmed that his GH exit was not temporary and he did not see himself returning to the soap for the foreseeable future. He tweeted a goodbye to both Spencer and GH.
“I’m so appreciative of the opportunity that GH gave me, and I wouldn’t be as busy as I am professionally if it weren’t for the talented producers, writers, directors and fellow actors,” Chavez wrote. “Frank Valentini is a mentor and a friend, and we’ve had some pretty extensive conversations about my future on the show. While there are no current plans for me to return, we are still talking very openly about future possibilities for Spencer in Port Charles. Beyond the people I’ve already mentioned, I want to take some time to thank and honor the GH fan base… especially the Sprina fans… who must be THE most loyal and kind fan base in the universe of entertainment. Words fail to show the depth of my gratitude, thank you, I love you all very, very much.”
Spencer might return one day, but it looks like Chavez will not be playing the part as his star rises.
