Days of our Lives brought the drama the week of August 26-30. Some moments were hits, some were misses, and Soap Talks has the rundown on what worked and what didn’t in Port Charles this past week.
The Best of DAYS
Poor Brady was beside himself knowing that his car hit Sarah and Kristen stole it to hide the evidence. He did the right thing turning himself into the police, not even knowing it was the wrong thing. Brady’s agony was gut-wrenching to watch, especially knowing Brady wasn’t the one behind the wheel.
Thomas is very astute for just nine years old and let Chad know it. The kid could see that his dad was troubled and offered to be a listening ear. Chad wisely didn’t reveal the “truth” about Abigail to his young son. It was easy to see Chad was not even sure he knew the truth about Abigail in these tender scenes that DAYS needs more of.
Thanks to Connie, Gabi is about to make life in the DiMera mansion quite interesting — as if it wasn’t interesting already. EJ doesn’t know what to make of things. His head tells him Gabi’s advances are revenge, but sometimes it doesn’t matter what the head knows. Will Gabi’s new plot lead somewhere EJ never expected?
The Worst of DAYS
Also thanks to Connie, we were treated to another week of Melinda in trouble. The story still doesn’t hit even with Melinda talking to the cardboard cutout of Li. If DAYS is trying to do Misery, it won’t work considering that Melinda is tied to a bed in a luxury apartment.
The cruelest thing DAYS could do to Chabby fans was introduce a fake Abigail. The beloved character’s death was always a bad idea even if the two actresses who alternated playing the part didn’t want to do it anymore. DAYS could have recast again and that is what we thought happened. Having this woman turn out to be a fake is just rubbing salt in Chabby fans’ wounds.
While it’s nice to finally meet Xander’s mom, having her run down Sarah with her car and set up Brady to take the fall wasn’t the way to endear her to us. Fiona can be a flawed character without having her be so selfish and cruel.
Don’t forget to watch new episodes of Days of our Lives on Peacock starting at 6 AM ET each weekday.
