The Best and Worst of General Hospital for October 18-25

General Hospital brought the drama the week of October 18-25, 2024. Some moments were hits, some were misses, and Soap Talks has the rundown on what worked and what didn’t in Port Charles this past week.

Best of GH

Is there anything more heartbreaking in this world than losing a child? Alexis said it best as she raged at God. You’re not supposed to bury your own children. Nancy Lee Grahn put in a tour de force performance as Alexis cradled her dead daughter in her arms to try to keep her cold body warm. We couldn’t help but cry as Alexis told Sam about all the hair she had on her head when she was born.

It’s wholly appropriate that GH gave Jason true goodbye scenes with Sam over any of the other men she has been involved with. Jason and Sam are a legendary pair. Although they changed and grew apart, Jason could be considered the true love of Sam’s life.

Leave it to Cody to see exactly who Drew is and tell the world, or at least the patrons at the Brown Dog. Drew IS smarmy and full of himself and it was nice to watch Cody tell that to Drew’s face. Cody’s truth bombs also led to a completely soapy mess that ensnares Michael, Willow, and Sasha.

Worst of GH

There was no reason to kill off Sam McCall. Absolutely NONE!!! The character was beloved for 21 years and her loss will be felt for years to come. Can GH even reverse this one when we were forced to watch her lifeless body for two episodes?

Michael was outraged when he learned that Willow kissed Drew a second time. This came AFTER he slept with Sasha during a drunken one-night stand. Then, he had sex with Willow on the couch. Hypocrite much, Michael? He is as ewww as Drew.

We prefer Holly’s long-lost child saga to Holly’s diamond heist saga. It just feels like a complete distraction from the story that should be taking precedence — the aftermath of Sam’s death.

Don’t forget to watch new episodes of General Hospital each weekday on ABC and weeknight on Hulu.
