The Young and the Restless brought the drama the week of December 9-13, 2024. Some moments were hits, some were misses, and Soap Talks has the rundown on what worked and what didn’t in Genoa City this past week.
Best of Y&R
We knew Sharon couldn’t be a cold-blooded killer who would dump a body off a bridge. And we knew a change in medication could not make a person do that — unless that change is a change to illegal hallucinogenic drugs. Learning Sharon’s meds were switched for PCP helped the last few months make sense and we couldn’t be more relieved for our Queen Sharon.
Can Ian and Jordan get their own comedy show? The two deranged villains were absolutely hilarious this week as they critiqued one another’s disguises. We are still not 100% sure what they are up to but teaming them up was absolute genius.
Lily and Devon are ready to take on the corporate world again as all that Chancellor nonsense has come to a close. Hamilton-Winters is their company and working together is exactly what Aunt Mamie wanted for them.
Worst of Y&R
Phyllis needs to calm down and look in the mirror. She goes off on Sharon for murder and setups not even remotely acknowledging the heinous things she has done through the decades, including attempted murder and faking her own death last year before committing murder herself.
Like mother, like daughter. Summer also needs to calm down, acknowledge her own part in ending her marriage, and leave Kyle alone. Summer had moved on. Now, so is Kyle so Summer should butt out and leave Kyle and Claire alone.
It’s nice that Devon will be working with Lily again and it’s nice that Abby and Devon are back from their honeymoon, but um, they are boring. And they need a story.
Don’t forget to watch new episodes of The Young and the Restless each weekday on CBS and weeknight on Paramount +.
