What General Hospital’s Jonathan Jackson Really Thought of the Lucky and Laura reunion

General Hospital’s Lucky and Laura finally reunited last week after nearly a decade. Their last scenes together were in 2015 and it all came and went too soon.

Jonathan Jackson’s Dream Come True

Before 2015, Jackson and Genie Francis had not worked together since 1999. Jackson was only 11 years old in 1993 when Luke and Laura returned to Port Charles with their young son, Lucky. Francis and Tony Geary were like second parents to him but Francis was not a part of the GH cast when he returned to the show from 2009-2011.

This time around, both Francis and Jackson are on contract and ready to re-establish that mother-son on-screen relationship.

“Getting to work with Genie again has been absolutely amazing,” Jackson told Soap Opera Digest. “Just seeing her again was wonderful. It was such a joy. The idea and the thought of getting to work with Genie again was a huge part of the inspiration and the drive to come back to the show.”

So, how was that reunion in the hospital chapel when Laura returned from Africa and saw her prodigal son for the first time in years?

“Genie is just an amazing person and an incredible artist,” he said. “It really has been such a joy working with her. I’m very grateful.”

In fact, Jackson has loved all his reunions with former castmates, including Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Webber) and Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos).

“That’s something that is so amazing about this medium and so unique, that I get to work with not all, but many, of the same actors. It’s a very special thing,” Jackson said.

Lucky was ready to lose it and skip town before Laura walked in thinking Lucky was going to save Lulu. Did Laura manage to talk Lucky into staying in PC for good? Stay tuned to find out.
