DAYS Recap, April 12: How Julie Ends Up On A Honeymoon
Julie just needed a break, but things didn’t work out.
On the April 12 episode of Days of our Lives, Julie needed a break and got one, Johnny and Chanel ended up with an interruption, Konstantin tricked Maggie again, and much more.
Julie’s No Good, Terrible, Bad Day
Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) was just about done for the day with a drink and a book in hand, but couldn’t manage to get any of the peace she craved. She admitted to herself that she was in a bad mood and was done with the chaos and drama. Children stampeding up steps, babies yowling…it was all too much for our glamorous octagenarian. She needed a break and knew just how to get one.
Before she could even sit down, Thomas came along and knocked her drink out of her hand. Julie tried not to lose it on her young cousin but there is only so much a woman of a certain age can take. Thomas (Carey Christopher) and Chad (Billy Flynn) were both apologetic as he explained they were playing hide and go seek. Thomas even offered to get her a wine refill.
Victoria’s cries were the next thing that drove Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) mad as she wondered what she had to do to get some peace. Julie told Maggie she had to get away for the night. She wasn’t sure where she was going to go but she was getting out of that house as soon as she could.
Marriage Of Convenience?
Downstairs, Konstantin (John Kapelos) explained his visa situation to Maggie, thanked her for her months of hospitality despite him being a serial liar, and told her he had to go now. Maggie didn’t want to lose Konstantin from her life. She felt there had to be another way for him to stay in the country. At that moment, Konstantin claimed to have a lightbulb go off over his head as it allegedly dawned on him right then and there that they should marry.
Maggie was sure that would send up some red flags with immigration, but then remembered that she had the best lawyers so they could take care of any problems that came up with the government. Konstantin was so grateful for Maggie’s generosity because she believed every word he ever said.
Soon Xander (Paul Telfer) came along with the baby and shared the good news that he wouldn’t be going to jail after all. Konstantin seemed disappointed to learn that but he didn’t let on. Xander insisted the truth was on his side because he was innocent all along. Xander was thrilled to hear that Konstantin had visa problems and offered him a trip to the airport.
Later, as Thomas wandered the house he made it to Konstantin’s room and started going through the drawers. That’s where he found the tarot card that Konstantin used to try and control John’s mind. Sounds just like Victor Cassadine controlling Drew’s mind with a tarot card over in Port Charles.
Xander Needs A Favor
Once Chad and Xander were along in the living room with the baby, Xander told him he planned to come back to work now that he was a free man. He also wanted to use The Spectator’s resources to try and figure out just who set him up.
Chad was on board with the idea, but was a little wary when Xander brought up Stefan’s arrest. Xander was surprised that the paper didn’t have the inside story on that. There was also very little coverage. Chad explained he was trying to stay out of his family’s business. Xander and Chad both agreed they should cover EJ’s (Daniel Feuerriegel) press conference the next day.
Later, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Xander met up at The Brady Pub and Xander expressed his usual concerns with Konstantin and felt something was more off than usual.
Romance Gone Wrong
Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) were worn out from a hike around the Horton cabin, but were happy to be together away from all the stress found in Salem. They settled in for a little romance. They reminisced about their first honeymoon in Italy as they enjoyed wine in the cabin. She was surprised when Johnny presented her with the dinner they had in Italy. He figured out the recipe and managed to cook it all himself.
They toasted to their honeymoon and then decided they needed to return to Italy for real one day. Johnny also had another surprise. He presented Chanel with two sticks to toast marshmallows and make S’mores, which was a far cry from Italy and didn’t meet Chanel’s professional dessert standards. They couldn’t use dirty sticks. They had to use the silver ones she found when putting away supplies.
Just as the pair was about to enjoy a proper wedding night, Julie walked in looking for her rest and relaxation. She was horrified that she interrupted a honeymoon, but there was too much snow for her to drive back that night.
Paulina’s Recovery
Paulina (Jackee Harry) sat in her isolation room as she underwent her radiation treatment and tried hard to distract herself with her laptop and some candy. At least doctors like Sarah were able to visit in PPE. Sarah reminded Paulina that she was radioactive, but not as bad as she was a few days ago. Paulina admitted she was experiencing nausea but also thanked Sarah for all the wonderful care.
Sarah then showed Paulina a card that Abe (James Reynolds) made her declaring his love. Later, Abe thanked Sarah for giving his wife the card as Sarah reminded him that he could visit Paulina virtually. Abe was happy to hear that she might be able to go home in a few days. Finally, Paulina and Abe were able to have a Zoom meeting but Paulina admitted she still had work to do. Abe was just happy to see Paulina being her usual workaholic self.
After her virtual visit with Abe ended, Paulina was thrilled to see Chanel check-in for a video chat. Paulina’s happiness was marred when she learned that Abe overstepped and helped out in the mayor’s office. She also worried about EJ’s press conference.
