The Best and Worst of Days of our Lives for October 18-25

Days of our Lives brought the drama the week of October 14-18, 2024. Some moments were hits, some were misses, and Soap Talks has the rundown on what worked and what didn’t in Salem this past week.

Best of DAYS

While it would have been nice if FauxAbby would have turned out to be RealAbby, we still loved the reveal. Sure, it was on a tiny cheesy set and nothing like a good 1980s and 1990s soap reveal, but the acting was stellar. You could feel Chad’s anguish, as well as Cat’s, making this soapy as can be.

Kristen is always best when she is up to one of her cunning tricks. It’s amusing to watch her move the goalposts for Xander as he debates whether to play her game. She knows she has Xander right where she wants him and we can’t wait to see what else she asks for.

Chanel kept it together when Johnny called her a slut and then announced he was sure she slept with Alex. She held strong, but when Paulina found her, Chanel had her moment and broke down in tears — as she deserved to do. Raven Bowens, thanks for the lumps in our throats.

Worst of DAYS

Johnny is an idiot. A colossal idiot. Like his sister. Chanel has now been cheated on by both of Sami Brady’s twins and Alex has been involved with both incidents. Johnny deserves everything that is coming to him.

What was that scene in which Joy and Nancy had an emotional moment over why Joy was conceived? It felt like expository dialogue so everyone would know that Nancy and Craig only had a second child to save their first. It also feels like the conflict was wrapped up in a tiny bow never to be explored again.

Fiona is out of jail after committing several heinous crimes. The character is a monster and should only be brought out occasionally. Watching her flit around town like she did nothing is not going to be fun.

Don’t forget to watch new episodes of Days of our Lives on Peacock starting at 6 AM ET each weekday.
