Are General Hospital’s Holly and Robert Gone For Good?

Robert Scorpio and Holly Sutton walked off into the airstrip fog Casablanca-style this week in what seemed like a happily-ever-after moment, but was that it for this old pair that has been on and off together since the 1980s?

The End of Robert and Holly?

It felt a bit odd that Robert and Holly were just revealed as Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) parents a few short weeks ago only to suddenly leave town and leave their daughter behind. Sasha is not surprised that Holly left but she had hoped to get a chance to get to know her father.

As for Tristan Rogers and Emma Samms’ status with GH, it gets a bit complicated. Rogers has been on recurring status for years so he can’t be officially fired from the soap. Word is he is slated to film more scenes after their holiday break, but what about Samms?

The actress has been very public about her struggles with Long COVID and how it keeps her from working for long periods of time.

“I cleared the books because I knew I was going to be exhausted,” Samms said in an interview with Soap Opera Digest. “That’s the one good thing about Long Covid: you can pretty much predict how you’re going to react to things. So, [being so tired] was no surprise. I was ready for it, Simon [McCoy, her husband] was ready for it. Everybody in my family was like, ‘Just rest up and let us know when it’s good for us to come see you.’ It’s just part of the deal

She flies into Los Angeles from her native UK for brief story arcs and expects to be back again eventually.

“I had an incredibly good experience. All of the people there — the camera people, the wardrobe people, the hair and makeup people — just made it feel so comfortable for me to be there,” Samms added. I know there is no other acting job that would be even vaguely close to feeling as comfortable as that, and it is such a privilege for them to let me have my life here in England, and yet keep coming back. That takes some convoluted story points, to be able to make that happen, and the fact that they are willing to do that is an absolute joy for me.”
