Watch Kelly Monaco’s Final Farewell On The General Hospital Set
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Dante, Alexis, and Sam said their last goodbyes to their beloved Sam McCall two weeks ago. Kelly Monaco had the arduous task of laying in a hospital bed still as powerful actors cried real tears taking in the last moments with Sam.
Kelly Monaco’s Last GH Words
After Dante said goodbye to Sam for the last time, Monaco’s tenure on GH came to a close. The cast and crew gifted the actress a bouquet of flowers before Monaco gave a brief speech. Now, that speech has made its way to social media and was posted by a fan on X (formerly Twitter).
“I’ve been on this lot for 25 years, and you have all been my family — not only my second family but my first family,” Monaco said in the video. “I just thank each and every one of you for these memories and this experience that I’ll take with me for the rest of my life. … It has been a wild ride, and it will not be the last that you see of me.”
Monaco began her ABC daytime tenure back in 2000 when she originated the role of Livvie Locke on Port Charles, a GH spin-off. Three years later, just as Port Charles was canceled, Monaco debuted as con woman Sam McCall.
Through the years, Sam morphed into a GH heroine with a heart of gold after spending many years running from caper to caper, finding danger along the way. She eventually chose to give up that life to keep her children, Danny and Scout, safe. Sam died after choosing to donate part of her liver to a comatose Lulu. As for Lulu, she is set to wake on Monday with Alexa Havins playing the role.
